CONSENSUS STATEMENT -

These grading rubrics are excellent. When first looking at the separate rubrics for each trait, it seems like there is too much, however, when reading through some of these papers is it very helpful to have so many options to chose from. Instead of just labeling a paper a 5, you can say more with the letter, what exactly makes it a 5? What needs work? The teacher can just circle the areas that weaknesses or strengths. Also, by having so many different traits, it is easier to zone in on one at a time so that students know exactly what they are to strive for.
